Get ready to unleash your inner Spielberg because the Oregon Road Film Series – Film Challenge is back for the Spring 2024 semester!
Following its previous success, the Oregon Road Film Series (ORFS) invites teams to embark on a cinematic journey, testing their creativity and filmmaking skills over a 48-50 hour period.
The film challenge involves creating a compelling short film, up to 8 minutes in length, centered around a specific theme. This semester’s filming frenzy is scheduled for March 15-17, 2024, offering participants a chance to craft their cinematic masterpieces in a short amount of time.
To begin the excitement, a mandatory orientation meeting will take place on Friday, March 15th at noon in the Owens Community College Library, on the Toledo-area campus, in College Hall 170.
Whether you’re a seasoned filmmaker or a novice eager to delve into the world of film production, all are welcome to participate.
Hailey Creps, who previously participated in the Film Challenge, shares her enthusiasm for the event, “The film challenge was such a great experience for me the second time around. I’ve participated twice so far, and both of our films turned out amazing.”
Creps shines a spotlight on the awesome teamwork and creative vibes that come with the challenge, “I enjoyed being able to spend time with my teammates and working with my peers to create something that I never thought that I would be able to in college. Some of my best college memories so far have come from the film challenge.”
With anticipation building for this semester’s challenge, Creps reveals her strategy for a more hands-on approach, “I plan on being more involved in the editing process this semester and giving my creative insight. I also would like to give my best shot at acting since I didn’t have a big role in the last two. I’m really excited to see what my team and I can produce this semester!”
Interested participants may not have a team. The Oregon Road Film Series – Film Challenge organizers will accommodate individuals and match them to a team.
