This past Tuesday, following a BIG Read event, the Owens Counseling Services in partnership with The BIG Read and the Disability Resource Center, opened the first Multi-Sensory Room (MSR) in College Hall 124. (Two more are slated to open on campus this fall.)
The MSR allows students to unwind after a stressful day with multiple stations that stimulate in different ways. From a sand-sculpting area to a relaxing nook with multi-colored lights, the room allows for each of the six senses to be stimulated. Students are encouraged to stop by whenever, whether it be by themselves or with friends.
Along with the room, Counseling Services will always be available for any students who need mental help, or if you just simply need someone to talk to.
