This past Friday was Owen’s semi-annual Athleticon, an event that brings together the Center for Fine and Performing Arts and student athletics.

Athleticon sees the students in Creative Arts and Media (CAM) degree pathways like Broadcast Media Technology and Photography bringing their skillsets to showcase the student athletes in their best light.

Throughout the day, athletes go through many stations that capture them in different ways, such as green-screen hype videos, radio interviews, and sport card photos. Behind the scenes, CAM students practice their skills capturing each athlete, whether that be through a lens or with a microphone.
Athleticon offers a unique and valuable experience to both students and athletes alike. Each semester, CAM instructors like Rob Thomas and Ruth Foote guide their students to participate in order to enrich the college experience.
