Brad Lay, a spring ORFS Film Challenge participant, picked the suspense card for his team.
On Thursday, May 1 in College Hall 100, the Oregon Road Film Series (ORFS) Film Challenge Awards will also be held. Films created from the the fall 2024 and spring 2025 film challenges are eligible for awards.
The ORFS Film Challenge is held during the fall and spring semesters where students get into groups as a film crew to write, film and edit a film short. The students are given a 48-52 hour period to create their short film based on the theme they draw, and the film length is between 3 to 8 minutes long.
Ben Hergert, a current student at Owens who participated in the fall 2024 Oregon Road Film Series Film Challenge, noted his team pulled the film noir card so that is the film they made, which helped his team be creative with his film.
All the competing films will be shown on Thursday, along with the awards. Don’t miss the opportunity to see these amazing films. Next year’s first film challenge will be in October; check the website for the final dates.
