Starting fresh with a new semester brings more to the Owens Outlook. We’re offering a greater multimedia package; we have grown with new personnel, including a new chief editor; and we will be moving to a new office soon.

Photography major Katie Buzdor is the new Editor-In-Chief (EIC). When asked about plans for the Outlook she said, “We hope to double our subscribers and people that visit our website. We are also possibly looking into starting an online magazine with our most popular stories of the month.”   She’s joined in this endeavor with a staff that’s grown bigger as well. Along with our new EIC, we have new editors, TJ Barney (Assistant Editor In Chief), Diane Larson (Copy Editor), Janelle Smith (News Editor), Lacie Hayek (Arts and Entertainment Editor), Amanda Aylwin (Sports Editor), Fabian Koder (Assistant Sports Editor), Sean Ferry (Photo Editor), Cody Franklin (Opinions Editor).  The Photojournalism class along with the people who have an interest in strengthening the paper, make us a wonderful team.    Our staff works hard each day to bring you a better news experience.  You can check the staff page to read more about each individual.

We’re not only growing in size as an organization, we’re also moving. “We are very excited to move into a bigger office. We are also happy to have a bigger staff this semester so that we can tackle more stories,” Buzdor said.   We will post the location of our new on-campus headquarters after the move.

As we tackle more stories, we look forward to bringing people the news by using multiple online methods.

The Outlook is starting a brand new Instagram; it will display the fun side of news and everyday life at Owens.  Plus we’ll post the Picture of the Month. We are revamping our Twitter feed so you can find news faster.  Breaking news story links, teasers and more will be available for you on the feed as well.  And completing the Outlook’s multimedia package is the paper’s existing Facebook page.

The Outlook team is excited to have this opportunity for a fresh start so that we can bring you more stories in different ways to keep you informed about life at Owens.
